Yesterday, I went to The Apple Store during my lunch hour at work. (It is Apple’s first hands-on interactive store to showcase its products in Europe, located on London’s Regent Street, very close to the Oxford Circus tube station.) Because the store is only a few steps away from the place I work, I have visited it many times recently. Just a few days ago, I noticed some very cool templates for webpages and magzine pages on apple laptops when I was at the BETT (British Education and Training Technology) 2007 exhibition. But at that time I did not have the time to look at them in detail as the show was about to close. So, I decided to see if I can find them on the computers in the Apple Store. The other reason I went there was because I wanted to check how this blog will be displayed in Apple’s web browser-Safari. As you probably know that different webbrowsers interpret the same HTML page in slightly different ways. I can easily check how this blog is displayed in IE and Firefox on my own computer, but to check it on Safari I need an apple one. Before I changed the theme (template) of this blog to Cutline, I had a bit problem with Safari because one of the links on my previous theme was displayed in the wrong place, but strangely it had no problem with both IE and Firefox.
So I was in the store during my lunch break. I first checked out some templates on Apple’s iWeb and Pages applications. But for some reason there was no internet connection, so I was not able to check my blog on Safari. I didn’t know this in the beginning, and tried to use different computers to see if I can find a connection. As I was starting on one laptop, my attention was instantly grabed. I saw my face on the screen with interesting special effects. It was a small application called Photo Booth that was turned on by someone who used the laptop just before I did. I checked through different special effects in this very simple application, and thought it might be a good idea to include a few photos with some of the special effects on my own website.
I went there again today, and fortunately they had internet connection. I tested my blog first and was glad to see it being displayed without any problem this time. I then took a few photos with the Photo Booth application and sent them back to my email box. I happily left the store after that.
Below are some of the photos.
